Yes, 'Lonely bouquet Day' is a real thing!
It was created seven years ago by Belgium grower Emily Avenson to bring a smile to the face of a stranger. In this country it has been supported by groups like the NAFAS, WI and the British Florist Association and in general the event really taken off worldwide.

So florists nationwide are starting to write this date down in their diary and have some real fun with it. We find a lovely spot here in Norfolk, that protects the flowers from the weather but that is not too secluded either . . . cos we want them to be found!
It has been widey recognised that flowers have a beneficial effect on a person's well being but flowers are usually bought for 'someone else'. This Lonely Bouquet 'gift' is about the person who finds them. Even then most people will automatically be thinking about who they can give them too, but our note is directed to the 'finder' and letting them know that 'they ' are the special person in their day today. We all have to remember to help ourselves feel special now and again . . . we naturally then want to pass that feeling on and have some fun with making others feel special
So if you have found a 'Lonely Bouquet' this week, CONGRATULATIONS - have a wonderful day! :-) x
