Born and brought up in Norfolk artist Jan Blanche always works from life and, when it is not possible to work in the countryside, likes to gather flowers to work on in her studio at West Somerton in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. Jan’s art has graced the walls of houses around the world with some even shipped to Kobe, Japan. Flower painting in Japan is a highly respected tradition and a Japanese businessman became so enchanted with Jan’s art he established a gallery specifically to introduce her to the Japanese public. Closer to home Jan’s work has been sold in the shops of many British retailers including Harrods, Fortnum and Masons and Liberty’s of London, and she exhibits at The Society of Botanical Artists’ exhibition and the Hampton Court Flower Show.
