SYMBOLIC Florals and a CHURCH Wedding

Gratitude has an important role to play in a good and balanced life and the church will always be there for those couples who wish to make their commitment to each other in the spirit of reverend praise.

Flowers that represent ‘thankfulness’ are . . . .

 . . . Agrimony, Bluebells, Campanula, Dark Pink Roses, Sweetpeas and Eustoma.

EUSTOMA

Eustoma, also known to many as ‘Lisianthus’, is a beautiful flower available in single or double (a double has more petals) with several heads on a stem. The flower head is quite ‘rose-like’, sometimes frilly edged and seems to spiral open from it’s bud.  There are so many different varieties and colours making it a very versatile and much loved wedding flower. . . even a white one with purple or pink tips!

As if this wasn’t enough the Lisianthus also has a string of other meanings that make it a very desirable choice for a couple beginning their life together -;

  • Appreciation
  • Friendliness
  • Admiration
  • Sweetness
  • Desire for openness
  • Long & happy lifetime
  • Peace & charm

'A Church Wedding'

There is a certain majesty in a church that no one can deny and, religious or not, many are drawn to the sense of peacefulness and strength, and the moments of reflection that unconsciously embrace you.

The church porchway is so ‘darling’ that you feel seriously neglectful if you don’t put a little something there to greet your guests as they arrive . . . and a candle or two!

The big open spaces in a church lend themselves to extravagant flower displays and wonderful floral designs – but equally you can achieve much with a few flowers and a lot of foliage.  Ivy weaved in and out of Pulpits, around FONT bases and climbing church steps, particularly just seems to ‘belong’ there - and lighted candles dotted around gives a magical ambiance, especially for an Autumn or Winter Wedding

be more easily achieved with artificial conifer draped in 'swathes of fresh ivy 'and little test tube flower pods tied here and there.

A magnificent Pedestal Display or two is simply a must and maybe a luxurious ‘all round’ arrangement tumbling over the font . . . oooooooh!

If you are investing in church flowers it makes sense to have them moved to your reception while you are having your photographs taken, but make sure that your venue knows and understands that the flowers will be arriving last minute. . . your ‘re-location’ plan might work something like this -;

                                   CHURCH                                                                                  RECEPTION

                                  ‘Pedestals’ – Entrance & Pulpit                                                  Entrance & table plan

                                  ‘All round luxury’ –  Font                                                             on a Stand in its own Space/Stage

                                  ‘Long & low’- Alter                                                                     Top Table

                                 ‘All round features’ – window sills                                             Table Centres

                                ‘Garland’ – pulpit or balcony                                                      Balcony or stairway

                                ‘Small posies or casual handtieds’– pew/chair ends                   Table or chair drapes and/or mini 'thank yous'

Returning, back up your beautifully decorated aisle, with your 'Beloved', to reappear for photographs under a ''Canopy of Flowers' is oppulance indeed . . . but who ever you are, where ever you are – the CONFETTI shot has it all!

  • Ordered flowers online for delivery and they were absolutely beautiful! Well presented, excellent quality and prompt delivery. Very happy and would use again!

    - Sonny Beglarian, February 2022

  • After weighing up several options we decided to go with Flowers by Nicole for our wedding. Nicole really understood what we were looking for and was so flexible with our requirements. She made us feel comfortable, knowledgeable about what we wanted and was very friendly and supportive... and despite Lily of the Valley being out of season Nicole was able to source these for us. She provided great ideas of which flowers would work well with these, but also fit our purple colour scheme... and they looked amazing... truly stunning.
