VALENTINES DAY is a very special day on the calender in particular for ‘new relationships’.  Valentines Day is a day when young love throws caution to the wind in favour of daring and anticipation, a day when you are quite justified in declaring your feelings for that special someone, in fact – it would be RUDE not to!

A card is chosen.

Now to the flowers . . . but you don’t know what she likes!  You make a promise to yourself to do the research for next year, meanwhile you will have to go with your GUT INSTINCT, and anyway, this year it’s more about the ‘raw excitement’ of a new relationship – and GETTING THE MESSAGE ACROSS!

The following year you are more prepared.  You know what she likes, and at some stage you may even decide to combine it with ‘a proposal’ . . . so many lovely memories.

It is for this reason that some people decide to GET MARRIED ON VALENTINES DAY, what could be more romantic?  But before you ‘set the date’ there are a few things that you need to seriously consider. . . not least the fact that, for the years to come, you will be SUBSTITUTING Valentines Day for your ANNIVERSARY!

Basically, Valentines Day causes a massive stir in the whole of the country, whether you partake or not -;

• The ‘catering industry’ for example is choca-block with DINING RESERVATIONS, you know that because you’ve already struggled to get a booking in the past. 
• The CHOCOLATIERS and 'florists' are working long hours to get their order books fulfilled.
• The Jewellers are busy making sure all their customers are satisfied that they have that FOREVER PIECE that ‘speaks a million words’.
• The SHOPS AND ROADS are busy with the ‘hustle and bustle’ as we decide, last minute, that it would be A SHAME NOT TO make the most of the day when it comes to food, cloths, gifts and flowers. 

In short, Valentines Day is a fun day when the world goes ‘a little bit crazy’, and it is a PEAK PERIOD for a lot of businesses.

If Valentines Day is an important day to you as a couple then this won’t sway you, but it is important that you are aware of the knock on effect  that it could have on your wedding, and the ‘price increases’ that are inevitable when ‘demand outstrips supply’.

Once the decision is made you will need to ‘GO WITH IT’ . . . and enjoy the journey!
